My name is Glenda Walker and I am the owner/operator of Happy Paws Pet Sitting serving most of Northeast Tarrant County. I established Happy Paws in November of 2004 and I am an active member of Pet Sitters International, Professional Pet Sitters of America, Humane Society of the United States and The Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce. After many years of working in the banking business, I decided to leave the workforce and be a stay at home mom. That worked great until my husband was laid off after 31 years with the same company.I decided to re-enter the workforce to help with the family income. But I decided to do something I always wanted to do and that was to work with animals. Friends had suggested pet sitting because that way I could arrange my hours around my children's school schedule. I now arrange my life around my pet sitting instead of it being the other way around.

The foremost policy of Happy Paws is to be available when the pets need me. I can be reached 7 days a week from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Not only do I take care of client's pets, sometimes I have been called to help them by bringing a key to get back into their homes after they were accidently locked out. I even provide a pet taxi by picking up pets from the groomer. My love for animals has led me to become certified in pet first aid through the American Red Cross.

The biggest challenge in my business is educating the general public to the advantages of using a pet sitter, some people are not aware that my type of business even exists. Pet sitting offers them a choice instead of having to use a kennel, next door neighbor or a family member.
